Super Six Netball
Inter-Intermediate Super 6 Netball
The mid-week break in the weather on Wednesday provided a perfect day for the Super 6 netball competition between the three Napier Intermediates and the three Hastings Intermediates.
Hastings Intermediate hosted the competition at the Hastings Netball Centre in Sylvan Rd. We were well supported by Hastings Centre umpires, Year 10 umpires from Hastings Girls High School, and umpires and scorers from Karamu High School.
The six schools played each other in two round-robin competitions with their A and B netball teams. Some of the games were extremely close and both Hastings teams played very competitively, showing great commitment and skill level.
Hastings Intermediate A team won four games and drew one. The B team won 3 games and lost 2. However, the combined point total was enough for Hastings Intermediate to win the Super 6 shield!
Fair Play points were awarded by the umpires to the teams for demonstrating respect for the umpires and opposition, and appropriate conduct on court. At the end of the competition Hastings Intermediate were ahead in points so were also awarded the Fair Play shield.
