Hastings Intermediate School - "The Get Involved School"

A general definition for Technology is solving problems in a practical sense.

In Hard Materials Technology the pupils will use wood as their main material.  Pupils will initially learn some basic carpentry skills before being challenged to design and make a small wooden container which can be used to store their precious items. What makes it more interesting is that the designs vary widely and that the pupils take ownership and pride as they complete their outcomes.
When making their outcome the pupils will go through a series of technological processes which include researching, planning, preparing, designing, making, reviewing , evaluating and revising.
