Our sister school in Fiji, Namara school on Wayalailai island has suffered significant damage recently due to to category 5 cyclone that hit Fiji. At the neighbouring village where most of the students reside, houses have lost roofs or simply been demolished, garden crops have been swept clean by the 300km winds so living conditions for our sister school students and families is most challenging at present. Our school sends our 20 school prefects ( the Leadership Academy) over to Fiji each year for ten days to work in our sister school and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the Wayalailai Island people.
To support our sister school we are holding two mufti days, Friday 26th February and Thursady 24th March. We are asking all students to pay $2 each for the Pacific themed mufti day but if any parents or whanau want to donate more please feel free. The 100 ex prefects from our leadership academies in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 will be selling raffle tickets and running BBQ's at the Napier Warehouse to support the appeal. Our school will not be doing a raffle.
If you would like to make a donation we have set up a Give a Little site.
Thank you for your support in assisting our friends in Fiji and we appreciate the way our learning community comes together to support those in need.
